Basic Protein Waffles

Scroll down for the English version!

Hallo meine Lieben,

Chrissy

Hello lovelies,

as some of you may know from Instagram I had some Protein Waffles yesterday for breakfast and you asked for the recipe - your wish is my command!

You need:
2 cups oat bran (or oats)
2 cups milk
2 tbsp flax seeds
some vanilla (optional, can be substituted with cinnamon)
2 egg whites
1 egg

Now you just mix everything and fry it in a waffle iron with a tiny bit of oil, I used coconut oil and devoured them with unsweetened, homemade strawberry jam, peanut butter and banana slices :D

Black Forest Cake Oatmeal - Schwarzwälder Kirsch

Scroll down for the English version!

Vanilla Chia Pudding

Scroll down for the English version!

Was ihr braucht:
  • 2 EL Chia Samen
  • 100-150 ml Milch

Chrissy

Hello lovelies,

some days ago I received a package from nu3. A blog post about it will follow. Anyway, there also has been a pack of chia seeds in! I have never tried chia seeds before, neither I bought them because they are simply too expensive for me.

Chia seeds are super healthy, are a "superfood", because they contain almost twice as much protein as other seeds and are rich in omega 3 and omega 6. They are also really high in fiber which is important for a good digestion. Also they contain lots of nutrients just like magnesium and calcium (of this one even more than milk!).

With my chia seeds I wanted to try something I have seen a lot on Instagram and Co. - chia pudding! It is a super breakfast, has the consistency of pudding as the name says because the chia seeds soak the milk up and swell. I think my vanilla version tastes amazing and it kept me full for a loooong time.

What you will need:

Just mix all ingredients, fill it in a bowl or glass and put it in a fridge for 15-20 minutes. Afterwards mix it firmly again, so the chia seeds won't deposit. Put the pudding in the fridge again overnight or at least for 2-3 hours.

Have fun trying and enjoy!

Mein Ernährungsplan - my nutrition plan

Scroll down for the english version!

Da vergeht natürlich einiges an Zeit.

Chrissy

Hello lovelies!

I want to explain you my nutrition today. First I want to say that I am not a dietitian and everything I will now write is based on my experiences. It is nutrition that works really well for me! Besides I do not always keep it up, but I will come to this later.

For breakfast I eat a lot of complex (healthy) carbs, along with proteins, unsaturated fats and vitamins. My breakfast has to keep me full for some hours because sometimes I cannot eat afterwards for 4-6 hours since I go 1-2 hours after breakfast to the gym for another 2 hours. So quite a few hours go by.

These are some breakfast ideas which I like to eat:

- Oatmeal

- Whole grain bread with veggies

- Yoghurt with oats and fruits

- Pancakes/waffles

- Mugcakes

When I have to wake up early or go to university I usually also eat a snack like nuts (specially almonds), fruits, some veggies or from time to time a protein bar - but this is the exception.

For lunch I 80% mind that it contains a lot of proteins, veggies and some healthy carbs like whole grain pasta or rice. But somedays I just eat what my mommy made like homemade dumplings, duck with red cabbage or Polish pierogies! On these days I really cannot resist and I don't even want to because sometimes you should treat yourself.

Such a lunch could look like these:

- Chicken/turkey with different veggies and a bit whole grain pasta/rice/couscous (potatoes are fine as well, but I personally don't like them much)

- Fish/shrimps with different veggies and whole grain pasta/rice/couscous

- Wrap
- Chili with rice crackers

- Whole grain pasta or zucchini noodles with a veggie-tomato-sauce

For dinner I try to eat just a little or no carbs. Instead I eat lots of proteins and veggies, for example:

- Low fat curd
- Salad with tuna/chicken
- Poultry with veggies
- Omelett/scrambled eggs
- Summer rolls

- A plate of raw veggies with smoked salmon, tuna, some cheese

With it I drink at least 3 liters of water as well as 1-3 cups of unsweetened tea per day. Besides I have 1-2 "cheatdays" per week where I can eat whatever I want - ice cream, chocolate, Haribo (gummy bears,...), (ordered/frozen) pizza, burgers. But from this week on I want to treat myself only once a week - on Saturday OR Sunday - since summer is just around the corner and I want to lose some body fat. So if I crave something sweet during the week I usually make my Peanut Butter Cups or protein balls.

Like I said in the beginning I don't always follow this plan 100%. On some days I want to eat bread for dinner. Specially my sandwiches, which my boyfriend and I are crazy about, I cannot always resist. When my boyfriend is at my place - which is really often - he pretty much wants a sandwich all the time and let's be honest - it is really hard to resist this smell and taste :D!

Like I said, this is the plan which works best for me!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups à la Reese's

Chrissy
